Good day, good people! This is the day that the Lord has made; never forget that. Regardless of what you face in the morning, afternoon, or evening, this day for you and me is a gift, so let’s cherish it.
One interesting observation about human nature is that studies suggest the average person tells several lies each day. Some are significant (“I’ve never cheated on you!”), while others are what we call “white lies” (“That dress looks fine”), often told to avoid uncomfortable situations or to spare someone’s feelings. Regardless of the intention, a lie is still a lie.
Today, however, I want us to consider another form of deception: the deception that comes through information.
We live in an age where information is more accessible than ever before. Every day someone claims to have the “secret to success,” the “hidden formula,” or the “1% information” that will change your life. Social media, podcasts, books, and videos constantly compete for our attention, each claiming to possess the answers we need.
While information itself is not the problem, we must be careful not to mistake information for truth. Information can educate us, but it can also mislead us when it is disconnected from Christ.
That is why today’s encouragement is simple:
Christ holds everything—even the hidden things.
When Christ becomes your point of verification, deception loses its power over you. Instead of accepting every new idea that comes your way, you measure it against the wisdom found in Him.
Colossians 2:3 (Amplified)
“In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge [regarding the word and purposes of God].”
Notice that Scripture says all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. God has not scattered His wisdom across countless sources for us to chase endlessly. He has placed it in His Son.
This is one of the greatest reasons we are called to pursue Christ. There are treasures hidden in Him—wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. These treasures are not automatically ours simply because we call ourselves Christians. They are treasures, and treasures must be sought.
The more we seek Christ, the more He shapes our thinking, our decisions, and our character.
Many believers ask, “How do I stand out? How do I make a difference?” The answer is not merely by accumulating more information. It is by obtaining the wisdom that comes from Christ.
This principle extends beyond our Christian walk. A doctor may possess extensive medical knowledge yet continue living in ways that damage their own health. Such a person has knowledge of medicine but has not fully embraced wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to live according to truth, not merely to know it.
Knowledge informs us.
Wisdom transforms us.
And both are found in Christ.
Application
Today, before accepting any advice, trend, teaching, or opinion, ask yourself these questions:
- Does this align with the character and teachings of Christ?
- Am I pursuing information more than I am pursuing Jesus?
- Is this producing godly wisdom or merely increasing my knowledge?
Spend time with Christ today through His Word and prayer. As you seek Him, ask Him not only to increase your knowledge but also to fill you with wisdom and understanding. In a world overflowing with information, those who are rooted in Christ will not be easily deceived, because they have found the One in whom all true treasures are hidden.
