Good day, good people! This is the day that the Lord has made; never forget that. Regardless of what you face in the morning, afternoon, or evening, this day to you and me is a gift, so let’s cherish it.
Today, I found myself wanting to speed things up because of the situation, forgetting that I said I was trusting God in this moment. I began to think about how many people are truly trusting in God, but fear is doing everything to shake that trust. Then, the following scripture came to mind:
Joshua 1:9 (NIV): “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Moses was dead, and the people had not yet arrived in the promised land. Remember, Moses was the leader alone; it is not as if he was co-leading with Joshua. And now Joshua is hearing that he is supposed to take the mantle and lead the people. He knew who God was and what He did, but he also saw what they had to endure, and he was thinking of what they were going to face, so fear overwhelmed him.
Takeaway: In situations where we find ourselves threatened by fear, we should ask ourselves, what did God command? If you don’t know, go and find out.
Prayer: Abba, Father, we thank you in Jesus’ name, Ameni!
