Love doesn’t tolerate pretense; give it as it is.

Good day, good people! This is the day that the Lord has made; never forget that. Regardless of what you face in the morning, afternoon, or evening, this day is a gift to you and me, so letโ€™s cherish it.

Are we ever going to stop stressing the message of love? Not at all. To some believers, it has even become a topic that is starting to sound boring; that is what they say. But the question is, are they loving enough, or are they just pretending to love? The whole Gospel is based on love, our salvation. So whether we like it or not, we will have to hear about love each and every day. One of the things we often struggle with is reading the Bible, and that is not the struggle; the struggle is love. Because without loving God, why would you want to come and listen to what He has to say? You might force yourself, but you won’t understand. So allow me to say loving God is a journey, and so is loving one another.

Romans 12:9 (NLT): Donโ€™t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.

One of the saddest things we see in today’s churches is that we don’t truly love one another. People must meet certain conditions for us to love them. When we look at one of the overarching verses, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…” (John 3:16), notice that there are no conditions on the love but rather on what happens after having access to the Son. Because of love, everyone has access to the Son. Whether you believe in Him or not does not negate the fact that God loves you.

But as I said, loving one another is a journey, and in a journey, there will be some ups and downs. I am just here to remind us to pick ourselves up from those downs. Let us not pretend, as hard as it is; heal if you must. Pretending is wrong, and you must hate it; that is what the following sentence conveys.

Takeaway: What good are you holding tightly to?

Prayer: Abba, Father, we thank you in Jesusโ€™ name, Ameni!
